Jenny Craig Diet and Esomeprazole

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Esomeprazole and Jenny Craig Diet in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Jenny Craig Diet alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Jenny Craig Diet at all — not against Esomeprazole, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Jenny Craig Diet is an eating pattern rather than something you take. Ask your pharmacist or doctor before changing how you eat while on a prescribed medicine: some medicines are dosed around meals, and a change in diet can change how they work. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Esomeprazole

This page covers Jenny Craig Diet only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Esomeprazole page lists 154 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.

The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Grapefruit (major), St. John's Wort (major), Acacia Rigidula (moderate) and Adrafinil (moderate).

By severity: 3 major · 102 moderate · 49 minor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Esomeprazole page

“St. John's wort can lower the amount of esomeprazole (Nexium) in your blood by speeding up how the liver clears it, which can leave heartburn or ulcer treatment falling short.”

About Jenny Craig Diet

What is Jenny Craig Diet?

  • Weight loss
  • Weight management
  • Portion control
  • Building healthier eating habits
  • Support for blood sugar control through weight loss

The Jenny Craig Diet is a commercial weight-loss program, not a supplement or herb. It uses prepackaged, portion-controlled meals plus personal coaching to help people lose weight, and research generally shows structured meal-replacement programs like this can produce real short-term weight loss. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting, especially if you have a medical condition.

Prepackaged meals, snacks, shakes, and a structured menu plan with personal coaching

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Jenny Craig Diet is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Jenny Craig Diet record says about it on its own.

Jenny Craig Diet: dosing

There is no "dose" for the Jenny Craig Diet the way there is for a supplement. Instead, the program sets a daily calorie target and menu based on factors like your weight, sex, and goals, usually using their prepackaged meals plus added produce and dairy.Follow the plan and serving guidance provided by the program, and don't drop your calories lower than recommended on your own.

About Esomeprazole

What Is Esomeprazole Used For?

Brand name: Nexium

Esomeprazole lowers stomach acid. Prescription oral products are used for short-term healing of erosive esophagitis (damage to the esophagus lining from acid), keeping it healed, and treating heartburn and other symptoms of GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). They are also used to lower the risk of NSAID-associated stomach ulcers in adults at risk, and to treat pathological hypersecretory conditions such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome in adults (long-term treatment). With amoxicillin and clarithromycin, they treat H. pylori infection to reduce the risk of duodenal ulcer coming back.

Esomeprazole sodium for injection (intravenous) is used for short-term treatment of GERD with erosive esophagitis when oral treatment is not possible or appropriate. It is also used in adults to reduce the risk of rebleeding of stomach or duodenal ulcers after endoscopic treatment of acute bleeding. Over-the-counter esomeprazole products treat frequent heartburn (2 or more days a week) and are not meant for immediate relief.
