Bimatoprost ophthalmic solution is used to treat hypotrichosis of the eyelashes — a condition where lashes are thin, sparse, or insufficient. It works by increasing eyelash growth, including their length, thickness, and darkness.

This use applies to bimatoprost ophthalmic solution 0.03%, available as Latisse and as the generic ophthalmic solution. If you stop using bimatoprost, your lashes are expected to gradually return to how they looked before treatment.
