Glucose falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Job's Tears interacts with.

Preliminary evidence shows that constituents of Job's tears might have hypoglycemic effects. Theoretically, concomitant use with drugs that decrease blood glucose levels might increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), chlorpropamide (Diabinese), glipizide (Glucotrol), tolbutamide (Orinase), and others.

Here's a bit of a twist worth understanding. Job's Tears may have a mild blood-sugar-lowering effect, at least in early lab studies. Glucose itself isn't a diabetes medication; it's actually sugar, often used to raise low blood sugar (for example, glucose tablets or IV glucose given when someone's levels drop too low).

So these two work in opposite directions. If anything, a supplement that nudges blood sugar down could slightly blunt how much a glucose dose brings your levels back up, though this is purely theoretical and based on weak evidence. Practically, food amounts of Job's Tears are very unlikely to matter. If you rely on glucose to treat lows, or you're managing diabetes, just mention any concentrated Job's Tears supplement to your pharmacist or doctor first.
