Glucagon falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Job's Tears interacts with.

Preliminary evidence shows that constituents of Job's tears might have hypoglycemic effects. Theoretically, concomitant use with drugs that decrease blood glucose levels might increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), chlorpropamide (Diabinese), glipizide (Glucotrol), tolbutamide (Orinase), and others.

Here's a twist worth pointing out. Glucagon isn't a typical diabetes pill that lowers your blood sugar. It does the opposite, telling your liver to dump stored sugar into your blood. You'd reach for it (or the Baqsimi nasal powder) during a scary low blood sugar emergency.

The interaction on file flags that Job's Tears might gently lower blood sugar, so it could nudge in the opposite direction of what Glucagon is trying to do. In practice, this is theoretical and based on how the plant behaves in the lab, not real-world reports. Food amounts of Job's Tears are very unlikely to matter. Still, if you keep glucagon on hand for emergencies, mention any concentrated supplements to your pharmacist or doctor.
