Toripalimab-tpzi falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Khella interacts with.

Theoretically, khella might have additive adverse effects on the liver when used with hepatotoxic drugs. Khella can increase liver transaminases. Some drugs that can adversely affect the liver include acetaminophen (Tylenol), amiodarone (Cordarone), carbamazepine (Tegretol), isoniazid (INH), methotrexate (Rheumatrex), methyldopa (Aldomet), and many others.

Here's the concern with pairing khella and Loqtorzi (toripalimab). Toripalimab is an immunotherapy drug, and one of its known risks is inflammation of the liver, which shows up as rising liver enzymes on your blood work. Khella has also been reported to bump up those same liver enzymes. So the worry is simply that the two together could add extra stress on your liver.

This is more of a theoretical, better-safe-than-sorry caution than a proven problem, but since your care team already watches your liver closely during toripalimab treatment, I'd loop them in before adding khella. Watch for yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness, and report those right away. Please don't change your cancer treatment on your own.

What Is Toripalimab-Tpzi Used For?

Brand name: Loqtorzi

Loqtorzi (toripalimab-tpzi) is approved for adults with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), a cancer that starts in the nasopharynx — the area behind the nose and above the back of the throat.

Loqtorzi is used in two ways: combined with cisplatin and gemcitabine as an initial (first-line) treatment for metastatic or recurrent locally advanced NPC; or as a single agent for recurrent unresectable or metastatic NPC that has progressed on or after a platinum-based chemotherapy regimen.
