Theoretically, concomitant use might result in increased photosensitivity. Khella constituents can cause photosensitivity. Some drugs that cause photosensitivity include amitriptyline (Elavil), quinolones (Ciprofloxacin, others), sulfa drugs (Septra, Bactrim, others), and tetracycline.

Here's the gist with khella and your nortriptyline. This one isn't about how your body breaks the drug down. Instead, both can independently make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Khella contains compounds (like khellin) that are known to cause sun sensitivity, and nortriptyline can do the same on its own. Stack them together and you might sunburn faster than usual, even on a cloudy day.

I'll be honest though, this concern is mostly theoretical and based on weak, anecdotal evidence, so don't panic. If you do use both, just be smart about sun protection (sunscreen, hat, covering up). And please loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding khella, rather than changing anything on your own.
