Here's the simple version. Nortriptyline, like other tricyclic antidepressants, already has its own anticholinergic side effects. It can dry your mouth, blur your vision, make you constipated, speed up your heart, and sometimes leave you feeling foggy or confused. Angel's Trumpet contains atropine and scopolamine, which block the very same nervous system pathway. Stacking the two together would pile those effects on top of each other and make them worse.

Honestly, the bigger issue here is that Angel's Trumpet is genuinely poisonous and has no safe dose, so it shouldn't be used at all, with or without medication. While this specific combination is rated as a theoretical concern, please don't experiment with it. If someone has actually taken Angel's Trumpet, treat it as an emergency and call poison control or your doctor right away.
