First, the big picture: Angel's Trumpet is genuinely poisonous and should never be taken as a supplement. That alone is reason enough to steer clear, no matter what else you take. So the safest answer here is to avoid it completely.

As for the specific overlap with Librium (chlordiazepoxide): this plant carries scopolamine and atropine, which produce strong anticholinergic effects (dry mouth, blurred vision, a racing heart, constipation, and confusion). Chlordiazepoxide on its own can already leave you drowsy, foggy, and mentally slowed. Stacking the two could deepen that confusion and sedation, especially in older folks or during alcohol withdrawal. This concern is based on how these chemicals behave (theoretical), not strong human studies, but with a toxic plant involved it is not worth the gamble. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor.

Chlordiazepoxide capsules are used to manage anxiety disorders or provide short-term relief of anxiety symptoms. They are also used to ease withdrawal symptoms in people going through acute alcohol withdrawal, and to reduce anxiety and apprehension before surgery.

Chlordiazepoxide is not intended for the everyday stress and tension of normal life. Its effectiveness beyond 4 months of use has not been well studied, so your doctor should regularly check whether it is still the right choice for you.
