First, the big picture: Angel's Trumpet is genuinely poisonous and isn't something I'd ever recommend taking, on its own or with anything. With that said, here's how it lines up with loperamide. Angel's Trumpet is loaded with tropane alkaloids (like scopolamine and atropine) that produce strong anticholinergic effects, meaning they dry you out and slow the gut down. Loperamide leans the same direction by quieting bowel movement.

So the concern here is additive: stacking the two could pile on side effects like a dry mouth, blurry vision, constipation, urinary trouble, a racing heart, and confusion. This is a theoretical worry based on how both work, not hard clinical proof, but the right move is simple. Don't use Angel's Trumpet, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining anything new with loperamide.

What Is Loperamide Used For?

Brand names: Imodium, Loperamide

Loperamide controls the symptoms of diarrhea, including traveler's diarrhea, in adults and children 2 years and older. It is available as tablets, capsules, oral solution, and oral suspension across many brand names.

Loperamide Hydrochloride and Loperamide HCl capsules are also approved for chronic diarrhea in adults associated with inflammatory bowel disease, and for reducing the volume of discharge from an ileostomy (a surgical opening in the abdomen that drains waste).
