ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Treprostinil (Inh)
Treprostinil (Inh) falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Korean Pine interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for your inhaled treprostinil (Tyvaso). This medicine already works by widening blood vessels, so it can lower your blood pressure as part of how it helps your lungs. The concern with Korean Pine is that animal studies hint pine nut oil may nudge blood pressure down too. If both push in the same direction, you could theoretically feel more lightheaded, dizzy, or washed out, especially when you stand up quickly.
Honestly, this is a very soft, theory-only worry, and eating pine nuts as a food is unlikely to cause any trouble. Concentrated pine oil extracts are the bigger unknown. If you want to try one, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first, and let them know if you notice new dizziness or fainting spells.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Treprostinil (Inh) page
“Inhaled treprostinil (Tyvaso) relaxes blood vessels in the lungs to treat pulmonary hypertension, and it also blunts platelet clotting, which is why this list of 275 ingredients warrants real vigilance rather than a shrug. Two themes cover almost everything.”

About Korean Pine
What is Korean Pine?
- Appetite control and weight management
- Heart and cholesterol health
- General nutrition and energy
- Skin and antioxidant support
- Cough and respiratory comfort (traditional)
Korean Pine is best known as the source of edible pine nuts and pine nut oil, which are nutritious foods rich in healthy fats. While some early research looks at pine nut oil for appetite and cholesterol, strong human evidence for any specific health benefit is limited. Treat it mainly as a food, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated extracts.
About Treprostinil Oral Inhalation
What Is Treprostinil Oral Inhalation Used For?
Brand name: Tyvaso
Treprostinil oral inhalation is used to treat two serious lung conditions that raise pressure in the blood vessels of the lungs. It helps improve how much physical activity you can do.
Tyvaso inhalation solution and Tyvaso DPI are both indicated to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH; WHO Group 1) and pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD; WHO Group 3). Clinical studies establishing effectiveness in PAH primarily included patients with moderate symptoms (NYHA Class III) whose PAH was idiopathic, heritable, or related to connective tissue disease. Studies in PH-ILD primarily included patients with idiopathic interstitial pneumonia, combined pulmonary fibrosis and emphysema, or connective tissue disease-related lung disease.
