ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Dasiglucagon Hydrochloride
Dasiglucagon Hydrochloride falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group L-arginine interacts with.
Preliminary clinical research shows that L-arginine decreases blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to understand about this pairing: dasiglucagon (Zegalogue) is an emergency rescue medicine. You use it to raise blood sugar fast when it has dropped dangerously low. L-arginine, on the other hand, has shown in some early research a tendency to gently lower blood sugar. So in theory they pull in opposite directions, which is the reason this got flagged.
In practice, this concern is mostly theoretical and rated as weak evidence. When someone is having a severe low and needs dasiglucagon, that rescue dose is strong and acts quickly, so a supplement is very unlikely to block it. Still, if you take L-arginine regularly and have diabetes, it's worth mentioning to your pharmacist or doctor, since it could nudge your everyday glucose readings a bit. Never adjust your medicines on your own.

“Dasiglucagon (Zegalogue) is an emergency injection that rapidly raises blood sugar during a severe diabetic low, so a supplement list this large deserves genuine care. All 239 interacting ingredients act through blood glucose, and most of them lower it, deepening the very crashes this drug exists to reverse.”

About L-arginine
What is L-arginine?
- High blood pressure
- Erectile dysfunction
- Athletic performance
- Chest pain (angina)
- Improving blood flow
L-arginine is an amino acid that the body uses to make nitric oxide, a substance that helps blood vessels relax and widen. It is popularly used for blood pressure, erectile dysfunction, and exercise, but the evidence is mixed and stronger for some uses than others. It is generally well tolerated in healthy adults, but talk with a pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you have heart problems or take other medicines.
