Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus delbrueckii with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. delbrueckii.
Lactobacillus delbrueckii preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. delbrueckii preparations by at least two hours.

Here's the simple version: Neomycin is an antibiotic, and your probiotic is made of live, friendly bacteria. If you swallow them at the same time, the neomycin can kill off a good chunk of those probiotic organisms before they ever get a chance to do their job. So this isn't about neomycin becoming dangerous or building up in your body. It's the other way around: the antibiotic can simply make the Lactobacillus delbrueckii less effective.

The easy fix most pharmacists suggest is spacing them out, taking the probiotic at least two hours apart from your neomycin dose. This is a theory-based concern grounded in how antibiotics work, not proof from large studies, so don't stress. Just check the timing with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
