Immunosuppressant drugs include azathioprine (Imuran), basiliximab (Simulect), cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune), daclizumab (Zenapax), muromonab-CD3 (OKT3, Orthoclone OKT3), mycophenolate (CellCept), tacrolimus (FK506, Prograf), sirolimus (Rapamune), prednisone (Deltasone, Orasone), corticosteroids (glucocorticoids), and other drugs.

Here's the idea behind this pairing. Sarilumab (Kevzara) works by quieting part of your immune system to calm the inflammation that drives rheumatoid arthritis. Larch arabinogalactan, on the other hand, is a fiber that some researchers think may gently stimulate certain parts of the immune system. So in theory, the supplement could push in the opposite direction from your medication and slightly blunt how well it controls your joint pain and swelling.

I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical concern based on how each one is thought to behave, not on real cases in people taking them together. It's not the kind of dangerous reaction that needs panic. Still, since Kevzara is an important RA treatment, it's worth mentioning to your rheumatologist or pharmacist before adding this supplement so you can keep an eye on your symptoms.

About Sarilumab Injection

What Is Sarilumab Injection Used For?

Brand name: Kevzara

Kevzara (sarilumab) injection is approved for three conditions. In adults, it treats moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) when at least one other disease-modifying drug hasn't worked well enough or caused intolerance. It also treats polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) in adults who haven't responded adequately to corticosteroids or who can't tolerate tapering them.

Kevzara is also approved for polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis (pJIA) — a form of childhood arthritis — but only in patients who weigh 63 kg (about 139 lbs) or more. It is not approved for pediatric patients below that weight due to the lack of an appropriate dosage form.
