IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS

Why this applies to Zuclopenthizol

Zuclopenthizol falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Larch Arabinogalactan interacts with.

Theoretically, larch arabinogalactan might interfere with immunosuppression therapy due to immunostimulant effects. Immunosuppressant drugs include azathioprine (Imuran), basiliximab (Simulect), cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune), daclizumab (Zenapax), muromonab-CD3 (OKT3, Orthoclone OKT3), mycophenolate (CellCept), tacrolimus (FK506, Prograf), sirolimus (Rapamune), prednisone (Deltasone, Orasone), corticosteroids (glucocorticoids), and other drugs.

Quick heads-up here: I think the database may have miscategorized this one. Zuclopenthixol (Clopixol) is an antipsychotic, used to treat schizophrenia and similar conditions, not an immunosuppressant. So the listed concern about larch arabinogalactan stimulating the immune system and weakening immune-suppressing therapy doesn't really apply to how Clopixol works.

The good news is that larch arabinogalactan is mostly a gut fiber that your body doesn't absorb much. There's no well-established interaction with antipsychotics like zuclopenthixol, and any concern here is purely theoretical. That said, since I'm working from a category match rather than data on this exact drug, please run it by your own pharmacist or doctor before combining them so they can check your full medication list.
