Lemongrass + Pyrazinamide
Pyrazinamide brand name: Tebrazid.
We found no known interaction between Lemongrass and Pyrazinamide in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Lemongrass and Pyrazinamide
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Pyrazinamide and Lemongrass in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Pyrazinamide
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Pyrazinamide is filed under 5 classifications — including antibiotic drugs, photosensitizing drugs, hepatotoxic drugs. Lemongrass has documented interactions with 3 drug classes — the most serious being cytochrome p450 3a4 (cyp3a4) substrates (moderate), glucuronidated drugs (moderate) and pentobarbital (nembutal) (moderate) — and none of Pyrazinamide’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Pyrazinamide page
“Pyrazinamide is one of the core tuberculosis drugs, and because treatment runs for months while the liver already carries the drug's own strain, the 102 supplements and herbs on file here warrant real caution. Thirty-eight of them add their own liver stress, and three of the four major-rated entries sit in that group, including somethi…”

About Lemongrass
What is Lemongrass?
- Digestive upset
- Anxiety and stress
- Antimicrobial/antifungal
- Insect repellent
- Flavoring in food and drinks
Lemongrass is a fragrant tropical grass widely used as a cooking herb, a tea, and an aromatherapy oil. It is generally considered safe in the small amounts used in food, but most of its claimed health benefits come from laboratory or animal studies rather than strong human research. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated supplements or the essential oil, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Cymbopogon citratus · Poaceae · Leaves, stalks, and essential oil · Tea, fresh or dried herb, capsules, essential oil, topical preparations
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Lemongrass is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Lemongrass record says about it on its own.
Lemongrass: dosing
There is no official standardized dose for lemongrass. The amount used depends on the form, such as tea, capsule, or essential oil.For tea, people commonly steep a small amount of dried or fresh leaves in hot water. For supplements, follow the directions on the product label, since strength varies from brand to brand.

About Pyrazinamide
What Is Pyrazinamide Used For?
Brand name: Tebrazid
Pyrazinamide tablets are used to treat active tuberculosis (TB) in adults and children. It is always used in combination with other anti-TB medicines — never alone. The standard CDC-recommended approach uses pyrazinamide as part of a 6-month regimen, typically for the first 2 months.
It is also used when initial TB treatment with other drugs has failed. People with drug-resistant TB or with HIV infection may need a treatment plan specifically tailored to their situation, which can include pyrazinamide as a key part of the regimen.

Pyrazinamide Is Linked to Lower Levels of 8 Nutrients
Natural Medicines records Pyrazinamide as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Lemongrass — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
