Lorenzo's Oil + Beclomethasone

Beclomethasone brand names: Beclovent, Vanceril.

No Known Interaction
The bottom line No known interaction

We found no known interaction between Lorenzo's Oil and Beclomethasone in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.

Lorenzo's Oil and Beclomethasone

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Beclomethasone and Lorenzo's Oil in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Lorenzo's Oil at all — not against Beclomethasone, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

What to actually watch for

No Interaction Found — But Data Suggests Lorenzo's Oil and Beclomethasone May Share Several of the Same Side Effects

This is not an interaction. Neither one changes how your body handles the other, and nothing here says they react together. What our sources do show is that each has separately been linked to the effects below — so taking both can make those effects more likely to turn up, and harder to pin on one or the other if they do. 2 of them are worth acting on rather than waiting out — marked below.

“Most people on beclomethasone (Beclovent, Vanceril) use it daily to keep asthma or nasal allergies quiet, and plenty also take herbal products, which is where this list earns real caution. About Lorenzo's Oil

What is Lorenzo's Oil?

  • Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD)
  • Adrenomyeloneuropathy (AMN)
  • Lowering very long-chain fatty acids in blood
  • Slowing progression of certain inherited disorders

Lorenzo's Oil is not a typical herbal supplement—it is a specially formulated mixture of two fatty acids (glyceryl trioleate and glyceryl trierucate, in a 4:1 ratio) developed to lower very long-chain fatty acids in people with adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD). It can normalize blood fatty acid levels and may help delay disease in some boys who are not yet showing symptoms, but it is not a cure and should only be used under specialist medical supervision.

Refined plant-derived oils (rapeseed/olive oil sources) · Oral liquid oil (prescription-style medical formulation)

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Lorenzo's Oil is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Lorenzo's Oil record says about it on its own.

Lorenzo's Oil: dosing

There is no standard over-the-counter dose for Lorenzo's Oil. When used medically, the amount is calculated by a specialist based on the person's body and is adjusted using blood tests and a carefully controlled low-fat diet.Because dosing must be individualized and monitored, you should not try to dose this product yourself. Do not use it as a casual supplement.

About Beclomethasone Oral Inhalation

What Is Beclomethasone Oral Inhalation Used For?

Brand names: Beclovent, Vanceril

Beclomethasone dipropionate HFA inhalation aerosol (brand: Qvar Redihaler) is used for the ongoing, daily management of asthma in adults and children 5 years of age and older. It is a preventive (maintenance) therapy — not a rescue inhaler — meaning it helps control asthma over time rather than treating sudden symptoms.

Important: Qvar Redihaler is not for the relief of sudden asthma attacks or acute bronchospasm. Always keep a separate fast-acting (rescue) inhaler on hand for those moments.
