Pazopanib falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Magnolia interacts with.

Theoretically, magnolia might have additive effects and increase the risk of bleeding when used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
In vitro research shows that the chemicals magnolol and honokiol, isolated from magnolia bark, inhibit platelet aggregation that is experimentally induced by collagen and arachidonic acid. However, they do not inhibit platelet aggregation that is induced by adenosine diphosphate, platelet-activating factor, or thrombin. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the thing worth knowing about pairing magnolia with pazopanib (Votrient). Pazopanib itself can already raise your risk of bleeding, and it's also tied to other serious effects like high blood pressure and liver concerns. The worry on file is that magnolia might add to that bleeding risk. In lab studies, magnolia's compounds (magnolol and honokiol) slowed down how platelets clump together, which is part of how your body forms clots.

I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is: it's only test-tube research, and nothing like this has actually been reported in people taking it. So I'm not trying to alarm you. Still, with a cancer medicine this powerful, please loop in your oncologist or pharmacist before adding magnolia, and watch for easy bruising, nosebleeds, or unusual bleeding.

What Is Pazopanib Used For?

Brand name: Votrient

Pazopanib tablets — sold as the brand Votrient and as generic pazopanib — are used to treat two types of advanced cancer in adults: advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC), the most common form of kidney cancer, and advanced soft tissue sarcoma (STS) in patients who have already received prior chemotherapy.

Important limitation: Pazopanib has not been shown to work in adipocytic soft tissue sarcoma (a subtype involving fat cells) or in gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), so it is not used for those cancers.
