Here's the simple version: Valsartan already works to lower your blood pressure by relaxing your blood vessels. Nattokinase, in some small studies, also seems to nudge blood pressure down a little. Put them together and the worry is that they could add up, so your pressure dips lower than you want.

If that happened, you might feel lightheaded, dizzy, tired, or woozy when standing up quickly. Keep in mind this is a theoretical concern based on how each one works, not something proven to cause trouble. Still, since nattokinase can also thin the blood a bit, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding it, rather than starting it on your own.

Nattokinase is an enzyme from the fermented soybean food natto that may have mild blood-thinning and blood-flow effects. Some small studies hint at benefits for blood pressure and circulation, but the evidence is limited and more research is needed. About Valsartan

What Is Valsartan Used For?

Brand names: Diovan, Prexxartan

Valsartan treats high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and children, heart failure in adults, and reduces the risk of cardiovascular death in adults who have had a heart attack and have a weakened heart muscle. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of stroke and heart attack.

Diovan (valsartan) tablets are approved to treat high blood pressure in children as young as 1 year old. Valsartan tablets (other brands) are approved for children 6 years and older. Valsartan oral solution is specifically indicated for patients with heart failure or post-heart attack left ventricular dysfunction who are unable to swallow tablets.
