Octacosanol is the main component of policosanol. In humans, policosanol can decrease blood glucose. It is not clear if these effects occur with the use of octacosanol.

Here's the gist for octacosanol and acarbose. Acarbose lowers your blood sugar by slowing how fast carbohydrates get digested, so your sugar doesn't spike after meals. Octacosanol (the main piece of policosanol) may have a mild blood-sugar-lowering effect of its own, though honestly the evidence is thin and mixed, and we're not even sure octacosanol on its own does this the way policosanol seems to.

The theoretical concern is simple addition: if both nudge your sugar down at the same time, you could end up a little lower than expected. Watch for shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling foggy. One quirk worth knowing, acarbose can change how you treat a low, so glucose tablets work better than table sugar. This is a possible, not certain, interaction, so check in with your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.
