Pazopanib falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Pau D'arco interacts with.

Theoretically, pau d'arco might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
In vitro research shows that pau d'arco reduces platelet aggregation and may interfere with vitamin K. One clinical study shows that taking the lapachol constituent of pau d'arco in doses above 1.5 grams daily increases the risk of bleeding. The effects of whole pau d'arco or pau d'arco extract in humans are unclear.

Here's the connection worth knowing about. Pau d'arco contains compounds that may thin the blood a little by making platelets less sticky and possibly interfering with vitamin K. Pazopanib (Votrient) isn't a blood thinner itself, but it's a cancer drug that already carries its own real risk of bleeding, including nosebleeds, easy bruising, and more serious internal bleeding. Stacking pau d'arco on top could, in theory, nudge that bleeding risk higher.

I want to be honest about the evidence here: this is mostly theoretical, based on lab studies and one trial using concentrated lapachol above 1.5 grams a day. We don't have solid human data on whole pau d'arco. Still, with a drug like pazopanib, I'd run this by your oncology team or pharmacist before adding it.

What Is Pazopanib Used For?

Brand name: Votrient

Pazopanib tablets — sold as the brand Votrient and as generic pazopanib — are used to treat two types of advanced cancer in adults: advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC), the most common form of kidney cancer, and advanced soft tissue sarcoma (STS) in patients who have already received prior chemotherapy.

Important limitation: Pazopanib has not been shown to work in adipocytic soft tissue sarcoma (a subtype involving fat cells) or in gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), so it is not used for those cancers.
