Why this applies to Aspirin, Pentazocine

Aspirin, Pentazocine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Peony interacts with.

Theoretically, use of peony may increase the levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
In vitro research shows that peony suppresses the metabolism of clozapine via weak-to-moderate inhibitory effects on CYP1A2 and CYP3A4. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the simple version for Talwin Compound (which combines aspirin with pentazocine). Lab and animal studies suggest peony may gently slow down a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. Since pentazocine is partly handled by that enzyme, the theory is that peony could let a little more of it build up in your body. If that happened, you might notice stronger pain-medicine effects like extra drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, or nausea.

I want to be honest about the strength of this: it's only seen in test-tube and animal research, not in people, so it's more of a 'keep an eye on it' than a red alert. The aspirin part isn't really the concern here. Before adding peony, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor, especially if the pentazocine already makes you sleepy.

Talwin Compound combines aspirin with the pain reliever pentazocine. The aspirin part is what matters here. Aspirin already thins your blood a bit by keeping platelets from clumping together. Peony may do something similar, so stacking the two could, in theory, nudge your bleeding risk a little higher.

In real life, that might show up as easier bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or a cut that takes longer to stop. I want to be honest though: this concern comes only from lab and animal studies, not from people, so it is more of a caution than a proven problem. Still, if you take Talwin regularly, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding peony so they can keep an eye on you.
