Structurally, raspberry ketone resembles synephrine, a known stimulant agent. Heart palpitations, elevated blood pressure, coronary vasospasm, pulseless electrical activity arrest, and resistant polymorphic ventricular tachycardia have been reported in patients taking raspberry ketone.

Here's the gist with raspberry ketone and modafinil. This isn't about one changing how the other is broken down. The concern is simpler: both can act as mild stimulants on the body. Raspberry ketone has a chemical shape similar to synephrine, a stimulant-like compound, so stacking it with modafinil could, in theory, add up and nudge your heart and blood pressure in the wrong direction. Think faster heartbeat, palpitations, jitteriness, or higher blood pressure.

I want to be honest about the evidence though. This is theoretical and built on scattered case reports, not solid studies. For most people it may amount to nothing, but if you have any heart issues or high blood pressure, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

What Is Modafinil Used For?

Brand names: Provigil, Sparlon, Alertec

Modafinil (also sold as Provigil) is used to improve wakefulness in adults who experience excessive sleepiness due to narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), or shift work disorder (SWD).

In OSA, modafinil treats the sleepiness — not the underlying airway obstruction itself. It is used alongside standard treatments such as CPAP (a breathing device worn during sleep), not as a replacement for them. If CPAP is appropriate for you, your doctor will want you to use it consistently even while taking modafinil.
