Resveratrol + Fexofenadine
Fexofenadine brand name: Allegra.
Resveratrol has a moderate interaction with Fexofenadine. Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Fexofenadine
Fexofenadine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Resveratrol interacts with.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit the CYP3A4 enzyme. However, clinical research shows that taking resveratrol 3000 mg daily for 8 weeks does not necessitate dose adjustments to medications metabolized by CYP3A4.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the good news on pairing resveratrol with your Allegra (fexofenadine): this one looks more like a paper concern than a real-world problem. The worry comes from lab studies where resveratrol slowed down an enzyme called CYP3A4. In theory, blocking that enzyme could let certain drugs build up a bit and cause stronger effects.
But fexofenadine actually isn't cleared much by CYP3A4 at all. It mostly passes through your body using transporter proteins instead, so this enzyme story barely applies to it. On top of that, a human study using a hefty 3000 mg of resveratrol daily showed no need to adjust CYP3A4 drugs. Even if levels nudged up slightly, you might just notice mild drowsiness or dry mouth. I wouldn't lose sleep over it, but feel free to run your supplement list past your pharmacist.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Fexofenadine page
“An over-the-counter allergy pill sounds like the last place serious interactions would hide, but fexofenadine (Allegra) has 154 supplements and foods on file, and the five rated major deserve real attention before you combine it with much of anything else. Two of those five sit in most refrigerators.”

About Resveratrol
What is Resveratrol?
- Heart and blood vessel health
- Antioxidant support
- Anti-aging
- Blood sugar and metabolic support
- General anti-inflammatory support
Resveratrol is a plant compound found in red grapes, berries, and peanuts that is popular for heart health, anti-aging, and antioxidant support. While lab and animal studies are promising, strong human evidence for most uses is still limited. It appears generally well tolerated in supplement doses, but talk with your pharmacist or doctor before starting it.
About Fexofenadine
What Is Fexofenadine Used For?
Brand name: Allegra
Fexofenadine temporarily relieves symptoms of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis) and other upper respiratory allergies, including runny nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, and itching of the nose or throat.
Several products — including Allegra Hives 24hr tablets — are specifically used to reduce hives (urticaria) and relieve the itching that comes with them. Keep in mind that fexofenadine will not prevent hives or stop an allergic skin reaction from happening in the first place.
