Some immunosuppressants include azathioprine (Imuran), basiliximab (Simulect), cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune), daclizumab (Zenapax), muromonab-CD3 (OKT3, Orthoclone OKT3), mycophenolate (CellCept), tacrolimus (FK506, Prograf), sirolimus (Rapamune), prednisone (Deltasone, Orasone), corticosteroids (glucocorticoids), and others.

Here's the idea behind this caution. Rice Bran Arabinoxylan Compound is marketed to rev up the immune system, and some chemotherapy regimens (like ones using cisplatin) can quiet immune activity along the way. On paper, a supplement that stimulates immune cells could pull against the goals of your cancer treatment. I want to be honest with you though: this concern is theoretical, based mostly on how the supplement behaves in lab and small human studies, not on real evidence with cisplatin itself.

Cisplatin is serious medicine with effects like nausea, kidney strain, hearing changes, and low blood counts, so nothing should be added without your oncology team's blessing. Please don't start or stop anything on your own. Run this supplement past your oncologist or pharmacist first.

About Cisplatin Injection

What Is Cisplatin Injection Used For?

Brand name: Platinol-AQ

Cisplatin Injection is used to treat three types of cancer. For metastatic testicular tumors and metastatic ovarian tumors, it is used as part of combination chemotherapy — alongside other approved cancer medicines — in patients who have already had surgery and/or radiation therapy. For metastatic ovarian tumors, it can also be used alone as a second-line treatment when standard chemotherapy has stopped working and cisplatin has not been tried before.

For advanced bladder cancer (specifically transitional cell bladder cancer) that can no longer be treated with surgery or radiation, Cisplatin Injection is used as a single agent.
