Theoretically, rice bran arabinoxylan compound might interfere with immunosuppressants by stimulating the immune system. In laboratory and human research, rice bran arabinoxylan compound has been shown to stimulate the activity of immune cells.
Some immunosuppressants include azathioprine (Imuran), basiliximab (Simulect), cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune), daclizumab (Zenapax), muromonab-CD3 (OKT3, Orthoclone OKT3), mycophenolate (CellCept), tacrolimus (FK506, Prograf), sirolimus (Rapamune), prednisone (Deltasone, Orasone), corticosteroids (glucocorticoids), and others.

Here's the simple version. Siponimod (Mayzent) works by quieting down certain immune cells so they can't attack the nerves in multiple sclerosis. Rice Bran Arabinoxylan Compound (BioBran, MGN-3) is sold as an immune booster, so the worry is that the two could pull in opposite directions. In theory, revving up immune cells might chip away at how well siponimod calms your MS, possibly leading to more flare-ups.

I want to be honest with you though: this is a theoretical concern based on how the supplement behaves in lab and small studies, not proof it happens in real patients on Mayzent. Still, since siponimod is a carefully dosed MS drug, I'd run this supplement by your neurologist or pharmacist before adding it rather than starting on your own.

What Is Siponimod Used For?

Brand name: Mayzent

Mayzent (siponimod) is approved for adults with relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS). This includes three specific types: clinically isolated syndrome (a first episode of MS-like symptoms), relapsing-remitting MS (periods of attacks followed by recovery), and active secondary progressive MS (a phase where the disease gradually worsens but still has active relapses).

It is taken by mouth once daily and is intended as a long-term treatment to reduce relapses and slow disease progression.
