Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ACE INHIBITORS (ACEIs)
Why this applies to Quinapril
Quinapril falls under ACE INHIBITORS (ACEIs) — the group Rice Protein interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for Quinapril (Accupril): in lab and animal studies, certain pieces of digested rice protein appear to mildly block the same ACE enzyme your medication targets. Since quinapril already lowers blood pressure by blocking ACE, the theory is that adding rice protein could nudge your pressure a little lower than expected.
I want to keep this in perspective though. This effect has only been seen in test tubes and animals, not in people, so it's mostly theoretical. If you do use a rice protein powder regularly, just keep an eye out for things like dizziness, lightheadedness when standing, or feeling unusually tired, which can signal low blood pressure. There's no need to stop either one. Just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they can check your numbers if you're concerned.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Quinapril page
“Quinapril (Accupril) lowers blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels, and that is where most of the 166 supplements and herbs on this list collide with it. The bulk either push its blood-pressure-lowering effect too far or work against it, and with six entries rated major, this page deserves a careful read, not a skim.”

About Rice Protein
What is Rice Protein?
- Building and maintaining muscle
- Post-workout recovery
- Plant-based protein source
- Meal replacement and shakes
- Weight management support
Rice protein is a plant-based protein powder made from rice that offers an easy way to add protein to your diet, especially if you avoid dairy or animal products. It is generally considered safe and well tolerated, though on its own it is lower in the amino acid lysine and is often blended with pea protein for a more complete amino acid profile. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it if you have kidney problems or other health conditions.
About Quinapril
What Is Quinapril Used For?
Brand names: Accupril, Accupro
Quinapril tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of stroke and heart attack. Quinapril may be used alone or combined with a thiazide diuretic (water pill) when one medication isn't enough.
Quinapril tablets are also used in the management of heart failure as an add-on therapy alongside other standard treatments such as diuretics and/or digitalis.

Quinapril Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Quinapril as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Rice Protein — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
