Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ACE INHIBITORS (ACEIs)
Why this applies to Perindopril Arginine, Amlodipine
Perindopril Arginine, Amlodipine falls under ACE INHIBITORS (ACEIs) — the group Rice Protein interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with Prestalia, which pairs perindopril (a blood pressure med in the ACE inhibitor family) with amlodipine. In a test tube and in animal studies, a broken-down form of rice protein seemed to act a little like an ACE inhibitor itself, gently nudging blood pressure down. The thought is that if it adds to what perindopril already does, your pressure could dip too low.
I want to be honest about how thin this evidence is: it has not been shown to happen in people, and a regular scoop of rice protein in a shake is very different from a concentrated lab extract. Still, if you notice dizziness, lightheadedness, or feeling faint when you stand up, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor. No need to stop anything on your own.
