Mesoridazine Besylate falls under ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS — the group Sage interacts with.

Theoretically, sage might decrease the clinical effects of anticholinergic drugs.
In vitro evidence suggests that common sage (Salvia officinalis) and Spanish sage (Salvia lavandulaefolia) can inhibit acetylcholinesterase and might increase acetylcholine levels.

Here is the idea behind this one. Mesoridazine (Serentil) is an older antipsychotic that has anticholinergic activity, meaning part of how it works is by dampening a brain and body chemical called acetylcholine. Lab studies suggest sage may do the opposite, nudging acetylcholine levels up by blocking the enzyme that breaks it down. So in theory, sage could chip away at some of mesoridazine's effects.

Honestly, this is very theoretical. It comes only from test-tube research, not real people, so the practical risk is low. A little sage in your cooking is unlikely to matter at all. Concentrated sage extracts or the essential oil are a different story and worth a quick chat. Since mesoridazine is a strong medication, please don't change anything on your own. Just run your sage supplement past your pharmacist or doctor first.
