Your medication combines two blood pressure lowerers: chlorothiazide (a water pill) and methyldopa (which calms the signals that tighten your blood vessels). The thinking here is simple. Sea buckthorn may nudge blood pressure down a little on its own, so stacking it on top of a medication that already lowers blood pressure could, in theory, push your numbers too low.

If that happened, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, tired, or faint, especially when standing up quickly. Keep in mind this is a theoretical concern based on how things work, not strong proof, and eating the berries in food amounts is unlikely to matter. Concentrated supplements are the bigger question. Before adding one, check in with your pharmacist or doctor, and keep an eye on your home blood pressure readings.
