Drug & supplement interaction

Serine + Risankizumab-Rzaa

Risankizumab-Rzaa brand name: Skyrizi.

No Known Interaction
The bottom line No known interaction

We found no known interaction between Serine and Risankizumab-Rzaa in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.

Serine and Risankizumab-Rzaa

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Risankizumab-Rzaa and Serine in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Serine at all — not against Risankizumab-Rzaa, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Serine safety at a glance

Serine overall Use caution Generally considered low-risk in food amounts, but supplement safety and long-term use are not well established.
Pregnancy Avoid There is not enough safety data on supplemental serine in pregnancy, so it is best avoided unless your doctor advises it.
Breastfeeding Avoid Safety during breastfeeding has not been studied, so avoid supplements unless directed by your doctor.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.

No Interaction Found — But Data Suggests Serine and Risankizumab-Rzaa May Share Several of the Same Side Effects

This is not an interaction. Neither one changes how your body handles the other, and nothing here says they react together. What our sources do show is that each has separately been linked to the effects below — so taking both can make those effects more likely to turn up, and harder to pin on one or the other if they do. 2 of them are worth acting on rather than waiting out — marked below.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Risankizumab-Rzaa page

“Echinacea captures the concern on this page better than any other entry. Risankizumab-rzaa (Skyrizi) treats plaque psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and Crohn's disease by quieting one arm of the immune system, and echinacea, like nearly all 53 ingredients listed here, is taken specifically to stir the immune system up.”

About Serine

What is Serine?

  • Memory and brain health
  • Nervous system disorders (e.g., ALS research)
  • Mood and stress support
  • Sleep support
  • General supplementation for the nervous system

Serine is an amino acid your body can make on its own and also gets from protein-rich foods, so most people do not need a supplement. L-serine has been studied for certain neurological conditions like ALS, but the evidence is still early and far from proven. If you are considering a serine supplement, talk with your pharmacist or doctor first.

Amino acid (made by the body and found in protein foods) · Capsules, powder, tablets; available as L-serine and phosphatidylserine

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Serine is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Serine record says about it on its own.

Serine: dosing

There is no well-established standard dose of serine for general supplement use. Doses used in research, especially for neurological conditions, vary widely and were given under medical supervision, so they should not be copied at home.If you choose to take a serine product, follow the directions on the label and do not exceed the recommended amount.
