Ethotoin (Paganone) is an older seizure medicine, and like many drugs that work in the brain it can leave you feeling drowsy or foggy. Skullcap is thought to have a calming, sedative quality of its own. So the concern here is simple: stacking the two together could add up, leaving you sleepier, more tired, or less sharp than usual.

I want to be honest that this is a theoretical caution drawn mostly from lab and animal work, not strong human studies, so it may not be a big deal for everyone. Still, because both can slow you down, it is worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially if you drive or notice extra grogginess. Skullcap also carries some liver concerns, which matters with seizure meds.
