Insulin Lispro falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Stereospermum interacts with.

Animal research suggests that stereospermum can have hypoglycemic effects. This has not been shown in humans. Until more is known, use cautiously in patients taking antidiabetes drugs. Theoretically, concomitant use with antidiabetes drugs might affect glucose control and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, metformin (Glucophage), pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Here's the simple version: insulin lispro (Admelog) is a fast-acting mealtime insulin that lowers your blood sugar. In animal studies, Stereospermum also appears to nudge blood sugar downward. Put the two together and, in theory, you could end up with sugar dropping lower than you intended. That can show up as the classic low-sugar signs: shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, dizziness, confusion, or feeling hungry and irritable.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. This warning comes only from lab and animal research, not human studies, so it's more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Still, since insulin already does the heavy lifting on your numbers, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding Stereospermum, and keep an eye on your glucose readings if you do.

What Is Insulin Lispro Injection Used For?

Brand names: Admelog, Admelog Solostar

Insulin lispro injection is used to improve glycemic control (blood sugar management) in people with diabetes mellitus. It is a rapid-acting insulin analog approved for use in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Admelog is specifically indicated to improve glycemic control in patients with diabetes mellitus. Humalog Mix75/25 is indicated to improve glycemic control in adults with diabetes mellitus; it is a fixed-ratio mixture of insulin lispro and insulin lispro protamine, and its fixed proportions do not allow for separate adjustment of basal (background) and prandial (mealtime) doses.
