Metformin, Sitagliptin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Stereospermum interacts with.

Animal research suggests that stereospermum can have hypoglycemic effects. This has not been shown in humans. Until more is known, use cautiously in patients taking antidiabetes drugs. Theoretically, concomitant use with antidiabetes drugs might affect glucose control and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, metformin (Glucophage), pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Here's the simple version: Janumet combines two diabetes medicines (metformin and sitagliptin) that work to lower your blood sugar. In animal studies, Stereospermum has shown its own blood sugar lowering effect. So the worry is one of stacking: if the herb nudges your sugar down while your Janumet is already doing that job, your glucose could dip lower than you intend.

I want to be honest about the evidence here. This is based only on lab and animal research, not people, so it's more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Still, watch for signs of low blood sugar like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or confusion. Before adding this supplement, check with your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on your numbers.
