Here's the gist with methyldopa (Aldomet) and Syrian Rue. This isn't about how your blood pressure medicine is broken down. It's about the liver itself. Methyldopa is one of those drugs that can occasionally stress the liver on its own, and Syrian Rue, in large amounts, has been linked to liver injury too. Stacking two things that can each be hard on the liver is the worry here.

I want to be honest about the evidence: this is theoretical, based on how these substances behave, and the reported liver problems came from people swallowing very large quantities of seeds (up to 100 grams). Still, watch for signs like yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, or belly pain, and please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
