What Is Tranexamic Acid Used For?

Brand name: Cyklokapron

Tranexamic acid injection (including the brands Cyklokapron and Tranexamic Acid in Sodium Chloride) is used short-term — for 2 to 8 days — in patients with hemophilia to reduce or prevent bleeding and lessen the need for clotting-factor replacement therapy around the time of tooth extraction.

Tranexamic acid tablets are used to treat cyclic heavy menstrual bleeding in females of reproductive age. They are not intended for use in postmenopausal women or girls who have not yet started their periods.
