Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CHLORZOXAZONE (Parafon Forte, Paraflex)
Animal research shows that enteral administration of Terminalia chebula for 15 days prior to administration of chlorzoxazone increases blood levels of chlorzoxazone and decreases chlorzoxazone clearance. It is speculated that Terminalia chebula reduces the metabolism of chlorzoxazone by inhibiting cytochrome P450 2E1.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Your combination pill pairs acetaminophen with chlorzoxazone, a muscle relaxant. Chlorzoxazone is cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP2E1. The thinking here is that Terminalia chebula (haritaki) may slow that enzyme down, so chlorzoxazone could leave your body more slowly and build up a bit higher than usual.
If that happens, you might feel more of chlorzoxazone's usual effects, like drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, or an upset stomach. I'll be honest though: this is theoretical and comes mainly from animal research, not solid human studies, so it may never amount to much. Still, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially since concentrated supplement doses matter more than a little culinary use.
