Pexidartinib Hydrochloride falls under Oral Drugs — the group Thyroid Extract interacts with.

Food and medications can interfere with thyroid hormone absorption. Some foods, particularly those high in fiber or containing certain minerals like calcium or iron, can bind to thyroid hormones and reduce their absorption in the digestive tract. Additionally, taking thyroid medications with certain drugs, like antacids or calcium supplements, can hinder the effectiveness of the thyroid medication, necessitating adjustments in dosage or timing. Prescription thyroid medications, such as Synthroid, are recommended to be taken on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before food and other medications, for optimal absorption.

Here the concern runs the other way around. It's not that pexidartinib (Turalio) changes your thyroid extract much, it's that taking the two close together can keep the thyroid hormones from being absorbed properly. Like prescription thyroid medicines, these hormones work best on an empty stomach, and swallowing another pill alongside them can blunt how much gets into your system.

The good news is this is rated a minor and easily managed issue. The simple fix is spacing them out, usually taking your thyroid product first on an empty stomach and waiting at least 30 to 60 minutes before pexidartinib or food. Because thyroid extract strength isn't standardized to begin with, I'd really suggest going over your whole routine with your pharmacist or doctor.
