Here's the simple version: psyllium is a fiber supplement, and fiber is exactly the kind of thing that can grab onto thyroid hormone in your gut and keep some of it from being absorbed. So if you swallow your thyroid extract and your dose of Genfiber or Hydrocil at the same time, you may get less of the thyroid hormone into your body. Over time that could mean your thyroid symptoms (tiredness, feeling cold, weight changes) creep back.

The good news is this is easy to manage by spacing them out. A common approach is to take your thyroid product on an empty stomach, then wait at least a few hours before your psyllium. Please confirm the exact timing with your pharmacist or doctor, since thyroid extract doses aren't standardized to begin with.
