Vanadium + Cilostazol
Cilostazol brand name: Pletal.
Vanadium has a moderate interaction with Cilostazol. Theoretically, vanadium might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Cilostazol
Cilostazol falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Vanadium interacts with.
In vitro research shows that the sodium orthovanadate form of vanadium prolongs clotting time, likely through inhibition of thrombin and factor Xa.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for Cilostazol (Pletal): it's an antiplatelet medicine, meaning it already makes your blood a little less likely to form clots so blood flows better in your legs. Vanadium may add to that effect. In lab studies, one form of vanadium slowed down clotting by interfering with proteins your body uses to form clots. Stacked on top of cilostazol, the worry is a higher chance of bleeding, things like easy bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or bleeding that takes longer to stop.
I'll be honest, this is theoretical and only comes from test-tube research, not from people, so the real risk is likely small. Normal food has tiny amounts of vanadium that won't matter. Still, before adding a vanadium supplement, please check with your doctor or pharmacist first.

What These Ratings Mean
Every interaction above is graded three ways — here’s the key to each label.
Clinically significant. Avoid the combination, or use only under close professional supervision.
Usually worth avoiding or managing — may need monitoring, a dose change, or timing apart.
Generally not serious. Be aware of it and mention it to your pharmacist.
- LikelyWell-controlled human studies have demonstrated the likely existence of this interaction.
- ProbableInteraction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports.
- PossibleInteraction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
- UnlikelyInteraction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans.

About Vanadium
What is Vanadium?
- Blood sugar and diabetes support
- Athletic performance and muscle building
- Lowering cholesterol
- General trace-mineral supplementation
Vanadium is a trace mineral found in tiny amounts in food, and people get plenty from a normal diet. Supplement claims for diabetes, weight, and athletic performance are not well proven, and higher doses can be toxic. Most people do not need to supplement it, and you should check with your doctor or pharmacist before using it.
