Vanadium + Canagliflozin
Canagliflozin brand name: Invokana.
Vanadium has a moderate interaction with Canagliflozin. Theoretically, vanadium might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Canagliflozin
Canagliflozin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Vanadium interacts with.
A few very small clinical studies in patients with type 2 diabetes show that the vanadyl sulfate form of vanadium increases insulin sensitivity and might lower blood glucose levels.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the simple version: vanadium (especially the vanadyl sulfate form) seems to act a little like insulin, helping your cells soak up sugar and nudging your blood sugar down. Canagliflozin (Invokana) also lowers blood sugar, just by a different route, making you flush extra sugar out through your urine. Stack the two together and you could get a bigger drop than expected, which raises the odds of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), things like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling foggy.
Now, the honest part: this is mostly theory backed by a few very small studies, and most people get plenty of vanadium from food alone. Food amounts won't be the issue, concentrated supplements might. Before adding a vanadium supplement, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor so they can help you watch your numbers.

Every interaction above is graded three ways — here’s the key to each label.
Clinically significant. Avoid the combination, or use only under close professional supervision.
Usually worth avoiding or managing — may need monitoring, a dose change, or timing apart.
Generally not serious. Be aware of it and mention it to your pharmacist.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Canagliflozin page
“Canagliflozin (Invokana) lowers blood sugar, and that is precisely why this list deserves genuine care. Nearly every ingredient on it works on glucose one way or another: most can push it too low when stacked with the drug, while a few, niacin among them, raise it and work against the medicine.”

About Vanadium
What is Vanadium?
- Blood sugar and diabetes support
- Athletic performance and muscle building
- Lowering cholesterol
- General trace-mineral supplementation
Vanadium is a trace mineral found in tiny amounts in food, and people get plenty from a normal diet. Supplement claims for diabetes, weight, and athletic performance are not well proven, and higher doses can be toxic. Most people do not need to supplement it, and you should check with your doctor or pharmacist before using it.
About Canagliflozin
What Is Canagliflozin Used For?
Brand name: Invokana
Canagliflozin (sold as Invokana tablets) is used in people with type 2 diabetes. Alongside diet and exercise, it helps control blood sugar in adults and children aged 10 and older.
In adults with type 2 diabetes, Invokana is also used to lower the risk of major cardiovascular events (cardiovascular death, nonfatal heart attack and nonfatal stroke) when established cardiovascular disease is present. It is also used to lower the risk of end-stage kidney disease, doubling of serum creatinine, cardiovascular death and hospitalization for heart failure in people with diabetic nephropathy (diabetes-related kidney disease) and heavy albuminuria (protein in the urine).

Canagliflozin Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Canagliflozin as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Vanadium — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
