Vanadium + Warfarin
Warfarin brand name: Warfarin.
Vanadium has a moderate interaction with Warfarin. Theoretically, vanadium might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs.

ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Warfarin
Warfarin falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Vanadium interacts with.
In vitro research shows that the sodium orthovanadate form of vanadium prolongs clotting time, likely through inhibition of thrombin and factor Xa.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to keep in mind if you take warfarin: it's already a powerful blood thinner with a very narrow window, so even small nudges in either direction matter. Lab studies suggest a certain form of vanadium can slow down clotting on its own by blocking parts of the clotting process (thrombin and factor Xa). Stack that on top of warfarin and you could, in theory, tip toward too much thinning.
What that might look like in real life is easy bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or blood in your urine or stool. Now, be reassured: this is only theoretical and comes from test-tube work, not people. The vanadium you get from food is tiny and not a concern. Still, before adding a vanadium supplement, please check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Vanadium
What is Vanadium?
- Blood sugar and diabetes support
- Athletic performance and muscle building
- Lowering cholesterol
- General trace-mineral supplementation
Vanadium is a trace mineral found in tiny amounts in food, and people get plenty from a normal diet. Supplement claims for diabetes, weight, and athletic performance are not well proven, and higher doses can be toxic. Most people do not need to supplement it, and you should check with your doctor or pharmacist before using it.
About Warfarin
What Is Warfarin Used For?
Brand name: Warfarin
Warfarin helps prevent and treat harmful blood clots. The label lists these uses for both Warfarin Sodium tablets and Jantoven tablets:
- Preventing and treating venous thrombosis (clots in the veins) and pulmonary embolism (clots in the lungs).
- Preventing and treating clot-related complications of atrial fibrillation and/or heart valve replacement.
- Lowering the risk of death, another heart attack, and clot-related events such as stroke after a heart attack.
Warfarin does not dissolve a clot that has already formed. It helps stop the clot from growing and prevents further clot-related complications.
