Some diuretics that can deplete potassium include chlorothiazide (Diuril), chlorthalidone (Thalitone), furosemide (Lasix), hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ, Hydrodiuril, Microzide), and others.

Here's the concern with combining wallflower and indapamide. Indapamide is a water pill that helps your body flush out salt and water, but it can also pull potassium out of your body over time. Wallflower naturally contains heart-active compounds called cardiac glycosides. When potassium levels run low, the heart becomes more sensitive to these glycosides, which can raise the risk of toxic effects on your heartbeat.

I want to be honest that this warning is theoretical, based on how these substances work rather than real-world reports. Still, since wallflower itself can be toxic and isn't well studied, I'd steer clear of taking it internally while on indapamide. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor, and keep up with any potassium blood tests they recommend.

Wallflower (Erysimum cheiri) is a fragrant garden plant with a long history in traditional medicine, but there is very little modern human research to support any health use. It contains cardiac glycoside-type compounds that can be toxic, so it should not be taken internally without professional guidance, and it should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

What Is Indapamide Used For?

Brand names: Lozol, Lozide

Indapamide tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), either on their own or together with other blood pressure medications. Lowering blood pressure helps reduce the risk of related complications.

Indapamide tablets are also used to treat salt and fluid retention (edema) associated with congestive heart failure. In certain cases, indapamide may also be appropriate during pregnancy when swelling is caused by a medical condition rather than normal pregnancy changes — but routine use in otherwise healthy pregnant women is not recommended.
