Glasdegib falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group White Pepper interacts with.

In vitro evidence suggests that piperine, a constituent of white pepper, inhibits cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4). Theoretically, concomitant use with white pepper might increase the effects and side effects of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include some calcium channel blockers (diltiazem, nicardipine, verapamil), chemotherapeutic agents (etoposide, paclitaxel, vinblastine, vincristine, vindesine), antifungals (ketoconazole, itraconazole), glucocorticoids, cisapride (Propulsid), alfentanil (Alfenta), fentanyl (Sublimaze), losartan (Cozaar), fluoxetine (Prozac), midazolam (Versed), omeprazole (Prilosec), ondansetron (Zofran), propranolol (Inderal), fexofenadine (Allegra), and numerous others.

Here's the simple version. Glasdegib (Daurismo) is cleared from your body mainly by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. The piperine in white pepper may slow that enzyme down a little, at least based on lab studies. If the enzyme works slower, Glasdegib could clear out less efficiently and build up, which in theory could nudge up its side effects, things like muscle cramps, nausea, fatigue, low blood counts, or changes in your heart rhythm (QT prolongation).

Now, the important part: this is theoretical, based on test-tube data, not real patients. Everyday pinches of white pepper on your food are very unlikely to matter. Concentrated piperine supplements are the bigger question. Since Glasdegib treats a serious illness, please run any pepper or piperine supplement past your oncology team or pharmacist before using it.

What Is Glasdegib Used For?

Brand name: Daurismo

Daurismo (glasdegib) is approved to treat newly-diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML) — a fast-growing cancer of the blood and bone marrow. It is used specifically in adults who are 75 years of age or older, or in adults of any age whose other health conditions make intensive induction chemotherapy too risky.

Daurismo is not used alone. It is always given together with low-dose cytarabine, a separate chemotherapy medicine, as part of a 28-day treatment cycle.
