Glasdegib falls under QT INTERVAL-PROLONGING DRUGS — the group Ephedra interacts with.

Theoretically, ephedra might have an additive effect with drugs that prolong the QT interval.
Even in healthy volunteers, EKG changes including prolonged QT interval and premature atrial contractions have been reported with ingestion of recommended doses of ephedra. Ephedra may have an additive effect with drugs that prolong the QT interval. This may increase the risk of ventricular arrhythmias.

Here's the concern with putting these two together. Glasdegib is one of those medicines that can stretch out a part of your heart's electrical cycle called the QT interval. Ephedra, with its stimulant compounds like ephedrine, has also been shown to nudge that same electrical timing, even at usual doses in healthy people. Stack them and the effect can pile up, which raises the risk of a dangerous heart rhythm problem (an arrhythmia).

This isn't about ephedra changing how your body breaks down glasdegib; it's two things tugging on your heart in the same direction. Since you're being treated for a serious cancer (AML), I'd steer clear of ephedra entirely and check with your oncology team or pharmacist about anything you're tempted to take.

What Is Glasdegib Used For?

Brand name: Daurismo

Daurismo (glasdegib) is approved to treat newly-diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML) — a fast-growing cancer of the blood and bone marrow. It is used specifically in adults who are 75 years of age or older, or in adults of any age whose other health conditions make intensive induction chemotherapy too risky.

Daurismo is not used alone. It is always given together with low-dose cytarabine, a separate chemotherapy medicine, as part of a 28-day treatment cycle.
