Oxtriphylline falls under METHYLXANTHINES — the group Ephedra interacts with.

Concomitant use might increase the risk of serious adverse effects.
Use of ephedra with caffeine or other methylxanthines such as theophylline might increase the risk of stimulatory adverse effects. There is also some evidence that using ephedra with caffeine might increase the risk of serious life-threatening or debilitating adverse effects such as hypertension, myocardial infarction (MI), stroke, seizures, and death.

Here's the thing about pairing ephedra with oxtriphylline (Choledyl): both are stimulants of a sort, and putting them together is like pressing on the gas pedal twice. Oxtriphylline is a methylxanthine, closely related to caffeine and theophylline, and it already revs up your heart and nervous system to help open your airways. Ephedra adds its own powerful push on the same system.

Stacked together, you can see a racing or pounding heart, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, tremor, nausea, and a spike in blood pressure. At worst, there have been reports of dangerous events like irregular heartbeats, seizures, and stroke. This is mostly anecdotal evidence, but the risk is taken seriously. Ephedra is also banned in U.S. supplements. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist before mixing anything like this.
