Niraparib, Abiraterone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Zedoary interacts with.

Theoretically, zedoary might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In-vitro research shows that a methanol extract of zedoary strongly inhibits the CYP3A4 metabolism of the tyrosine kinase inhibitors lapatinib and sorafenib, and to a lesser extent, gefitinib.

Akeega is a combination of two active cancer medicines, niraparib and abiraterone, and both rely partly on the liver enzyme CYP3A4 to be cleared from your body. The concern here is that zedoary might block that enzyme. If it does, these drugs could build up higher than intended, which may raise the odds of side effects like fatigue, nausea, low blood counts, high blood pressure, or swelling.

I want to be honest about how weak this evidence is. It comes only from lab dish studies using other drugs, not real patients taking Akeega, so it is truly theoretical. Cooking with zedoary as a spice is unlikely to matter, but a concentrated supplement is a different story. Since this is serious cancer treatment, please check with your oncologist or pharmacist before adding it.
