Erythromycin Ethylsuccinate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Zedoary interacts with.

Theoretically, zedoary might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In-vitro research shows that a methanol extract of zedoary strongly inhibits the CYP3A4 metabolism of the tyrosine kinase inhibitors lapatinib and sorafenib, and to a lesser extent, gefitinib.

Here's the gist: your body uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear erythromycin out of your system. In lab dish studies, zedoary appears to slow that same enzyme down. If that holds true in people, erythromycin could build up a bit more than usual, which might make its typical side effects stronger, things like nausea, stomach cramping, or diarrhea.

I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. This concern comes only from test-tube work, not real patients, so it's theoretical. Sprinkling zedoary as a spice in food is very unlikely to matter. Concentrated supplement capsules are the bigger question mark. If you're taking erythromycin and want to use zedoary regularly, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
