What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Adult Probiotics 15 Billion CFU against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Adult Probiotics 15 Billion CFU by HealthyBiom
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This product has four active probiotic ingredients — three individual bacterial strains (Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum, and Bifidobacterium longum) plus one proprietary blend component — delivering 15 billion colony-forming units (CFU) of live, active cultures. Probiotics are beneficial bacteria meant to support your gut health.
The capsule also contains inactive ingredients including microcrystalline cellulose, vegetable cellulose, fructooligosaccharide, vegetable magnesium stearate, and silica, which help form and stabilize the capsule.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for these strains is mixed and fairly limited. Lactobacillus acidophilus is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome, Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis, but possibly ineffective for atopic disease and has insufficient evidence for acute respiratory distress syndrome.
Bifidobacterium bifidum is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome and respiratory tract infections, but the data on hay fever, Alzheimer's disease, and anxiety are insufficient to rate. Bifidobacterium longum has insufficient evidence for all the conditions we reviewed — including age-related cognitive decline, hay fever, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, anxiety, asthma, and athletic performance.
We could not assess the proprietary blend component or Bifidobacterium lactis against any specific conditions.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum are generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children, though you should check with your doctor before use. Bifidobacterium longum is generally well tolerated in healthy people but requires caution if you're seriously ill or have a weakened immune system.
All three strains can cause mild gastrointestinal side effects — bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and occasionally diarrhea or vomiting — though these are uncommon. Rare cases of serious infection (bacteremia or sepsis) have been reported with live probiotic use, mainly in critically ill or immunocompromised patients; translocation from the gut is thought to be the mechanism.
Pregnancy safety is rated possibly safe for Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum; Bifidobacterium longum is also rated possibly safe in both pregnancy and lactation. Lactation data are not on file for the first two strains — talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized guidance.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Antibiotic drugs are the main medication type to watch. Taking them at the same time as this probiotic may kill the live organisms and reduce the product's effectiveness.
Separate your doses and ask your pharmacist or doctor how far apart to take them.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product may help with irritable bowel syndrome or certain types of diarrhea if you choose to try it, though the evidence is modest. If you take antibiotics, space out your doses — talk to your pharmacist about timing so the probiotic stays effective.
Anyone with a weakened immune system or serious illness should check with their doctor first before starting.

Adult Probiotics 15 Billion CFU by HealthyBiom Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
HealthyBiom Adult Probiotics 15 Billion CFU contains three probiotic strains we could check — Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum, and Bifidobacterium longum — plus one strain for which we hold no interaction data.
All three checked strains share the same moderate-severity interaction: antibiotics may kill the live organisms in the product, reducing its effectiveness. Since these are living microorganisms, taking them at the same time as antibiotics could significantly decrease how many survive to do their job.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The effect is straightforward — antibiotics don't distinguish between "good" and "bad" bacteria. The solution is simple: space out your doses.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about the timing; they can help you take your antibiotic and the probiotic far enough apart so both work as intended.
Additionally, we could not check Bifidobacterium lactis because we hold no data for it. Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications.
Use the medication checker on this page to look up your specific drugs before you start.
