What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Blueberry Leaf Powder against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. What’s inside
Full disclosure
This powder contains one active ingredient: blueberry leaf. That's it—no other actives.
There are no inactive ingredients listed.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence here is thin. For high blood pressure, blueberry shows possibly ineffective rating in our data.
For age-related cognitive decline, anxiety, athletic performance, and high cholesterol, we don't have enough reliable evidence to say whether it works.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Blueberries as food are eaten widely and are generally well tolerated. This is a concentrated powder, though, and freeze-dried blueberries in clinical trials have caused constipation, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting in some people—a significant number (26% of trial participants) stopped taking them in the first week because of stomach upset.
For pregnancy and lactation, the safety data advises that eating whole blueberries is fine, but there isn't enough study of concentrated supplements at higher doses. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether it's right for you if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Minor interactions only
Before you take this, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you use antidiabetes drugs, flurbiprofen (Ansaid), or buspirone (BuSpar). All three interactions are Minor, but they're worth confirming, especially the blood-sugar risk if you're already taking diabetes medication.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Only minor medication interactions are documented, and safety information is well characterized.
Blueberry leaf powder is generally well tolerated, but it may lower blood sugar and slow the breakdown of a few medications. If you take antidiabetes drugs, flurbiprofen, buspirone, or any other prescription medication, check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting.
Be aware that gastrointestinal upset is a real possibility with concentrated blueberry powder.

Blueberry, Powder monograph & interactionsBlueberry Leaf Powder by TerraVita Premium Collection Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Blueberry Leaf Powder by TerraVita Premium Collection does interact with a few medication types, though the risks are all Minor.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The main concern is antidiabetes drugs (medications that lower blood sugar). Blueberry leaf may further lower your blood sugar, which could theoretically increase your risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
Animal and lab research suggests blueberry leaf extracts can lower glucose levels on their own.
Blueberry leaf may also slow how your body breaks down flurbiprofen (an anti-inflammatory pain reliever) and buspirone (an anxiety medication), potentially raising their blood levels. Lab work points to an enzyme-blocking effect, though human studies on juice at standard doses showed less dramatic results.
Altogether, these interactions span 88 individual medications. If you take any antidiabetes drug, flurbiprofen, buspirone, or other prescription medications, run them through the search tool below before you start this powder.

For each ingredient in Blueberry Leaf Powder with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Blueberry, Powder
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, blueberries or blueberry leaf extracts might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.
Animal and in vitro research suggests that blueberry and/or blueberry leaf extracts can lower blood glucose levels.
Buspirone (Buspar)
Theoretically, blueberry juice might increase blood levels of buspirone.
In vitro research shows that blueberry juice can inhibit the metabolism of buspirone, possibly by inhibiting cytochrome P450 3A (CYP3A) enzymes. However, pharmacokinetic research in humans shows that drinking 300 mL of blueberry juice 30 minutes before taking buspirone hydrochloride 10 mg does not significantly affect the concentration or clearance of buspirone.
Flurbiprofen (Ansaid, Others)
Theoretically, blueberry juice might increase blood levels of flurbiprofen.
In vitro research shows that blueberry juice can inhibit the metabolism of flurbiprofen, possibly by inhibiting cytochrome P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) enzymes. However, pharmacokinetic research in humans shows that drinking 300 mL of blueberry juice 30 minutes before taking flurbiprofen 100 mg does not significantly affect the concentration or clearance of flurbiprofen.
