Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: cordyceps extract, a fungus-derived compound sometimes used in traditional medicine. The capsule itself is made from gelatin.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence for cordyceps is mixed and mostly limited. For athletic performance, the data suggests it's probably ineffective.
For sexual dysfunction, asthma, arrhythmia, COPD, and lung cancer, there isn't enough reliable evidence yet to know whether it works. More research is needed in these areas.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Cordyceps seems to be tolerated reasonably well when used for up to a year, though the overall safety data is limited and product quality can vary widely. The most common side effects reported in studies are gastrointestinal—abdominal discomfort, constipation, or diarrhea—and these were uncommon.
Some people also reported dry mouth or throat discomfort, which can sometimes be reduced by taking it after eating. There is one case report of liver inflammation linked to a cordyceps-containing product, though it's unclear whether cordyceps itself or an unknown contaminant caused it.
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, there isn't enough safety data, so the evidence advises against use. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking cordyceps if you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check before using if you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs like warfarin or aspirin—cordyceps may increase bleeding risk. Also confirm with your doctor if you're on immunosuppressants such as cyclosporine, as cordyceps might interfere with how well they work.
If you use testosterone supplements or medications, mention this product to your pharmacist or doctor as well.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Cordyceps extract may appeal to people interested in athletic or sexual performance, but the evidence for most of these uses is limited or lacking. If you take blood thinners, immunosuppressants, or testosterone medications, check with your doctor or pharmacist first—the interactions are documented but haven't been fully studied in humans.
Overall quality varies, so buying from a reputable brand matters.

Cordyceps extract
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, cordyceps may increase the risk of bleeding when used with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs.
In vitro and animal research suggests that cordyceps extract inhibits platelet aggregation and function. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Immunosuppressants
Theoretically, concurrent use of cordyceps might interfere with immunosuppressive therapy.
Animal and in vitro research suggests that cordyceps stimulates the immune system. However, limited clinical research suggests that taking cordyceps may lower the necessary therapeutic dose of the immunosuppressant cyclosporine, which suggests that cordyceps may have an immunosuppressive effect.
Testosterone
Theoretically, concurrent use of cordyceps and testosterone might have additive effects.
Animal research suggests that cordyceps can increase testosterone levels. The clinical significance of this finding is unclear.
